eBay founder Pierre Omidyar, who runs a non-profit foundation and a venture capital firm, routinely picks up eBay executives to join his companies, and this week, he picked up a few more. The Omidyar Network said eBay's Vice President of Global Trust and Safety Matt Halprin, who had already joined Omidyar Network earlier this year, is joining the company's senior leadership team. eBay's Vice President of Human Resources and Administration Sal Giambanco will begin work with Omidyar Network in January 2009. eBay Senior Director in Global Trust & Safety Sophie Bromberg joins Omidyar Network as Director, Investments.
They join their colleague, long-time eBay executive Matt Bannick, who is Managing Partner at Omidyar Network, which has invested in such companies as Second Life (Linden Lab), Prosper, Meetup, Digg and Federated Media Publishing.
Also announced this week, eBay Vice President of Seller Experience Jim Ambach, who left eBay over the summer, is now at Jigsaw, an online business directory.
