Google will soon experiment with displaying tax and shipping information in Google Product Search listings in order to provide buyers with more accurate price information. Google is urging merchants to submit tax and shipping information for their products via their Google Base accounts.
Merchants can submit tax and shipping information by setting default values directly in their Google Base account, or include values in their data feeds.
Merchants have three options for setting shipping costs: they may specify a flat shipping rate (or free shipping); they may define custom tables; or they may apply a carrier-calculated rate if they use UPS, FedEx, or USPS, in which case they must include the weight attribute. Google uses daily rates for UPS, and standard (non-retail counter) rates for FedEx.
