Reading AuctionBytes: Amazon.com Promotes Online Payment Service to Merchants

Amazon.com is hosting a webinar for online merchants interested in learning about its Checkout by Amazon online payment service. Amazon.com's checkout solution offers unique features including Amazon's 1-Click as well as tools to manage shipping charges, sales tax, promotions and post-sale activities (refunds, cancellations and chargebacks).

Similar to services from PayPal and Google, fees for using Checkout by Amazon are transaction-based and vary depending on the transaction amount. For example, transactions of $10 or more incur a fee of 2.9% plus 30 cents, with volume discounts available. Amazon offers a number of services for online sellers, including a store builder, fulfillment services and a cost-per-click advertising program.

The webinar on Amazon's payment service is free for online sellers and takes place online on January 13, 2009, at 10:00 am PST.
