Elvira Daddario of Intertraders.eu, an Italian ecommerce information portal, said hundreds of eBayers in Italy received an email informing them that eBay would comply with the Guardia di Finanza tax authority's request for account data.
Intertraders.eu reported that the agency requested information on sellers that sold annual amounts above EUR 1000.00 and have sold 5 or more items in the course of a year between 2004 and 2007. Elivra said it was a "circumstance without precedent" in eBay Italy's history.
