eBay Now Takes PayPal for Adult Items

Reading AuctionBytes: eBay Now Takes PayPal for Adult Items

eBay changed its policy to allow buyers to pay for items in the "Adult Only" category using its online payment service PayPal. However, PayPal may not be used to purchase digital items. Previously buyers were prohibited from using PayPal for adult material.

According to eBay's Accepted Payments policy, "Sellers can offer PayPal as a payment method, along with credit or debit cards (through their merchant account), personal checks, cashier's checks, money orders, and payment upon pickup." The policy change only applies to eBay.com.

eBay allows certain adult items on its main pages (Pre-1980 Playboy, Playgirl and Penthouse magazines and video games rated Mature, for example), but most other such items are relegated to the Adult Only category (previously called Mature Audiences), such as items that require viewers and buyers to be 18 or older, and X-rated movies or movies designed for an "adult-only" audience.
