Atomic Mall Sidewalk Sale
AtomicMall will hold a 2-day sidewalk sale in April. Participating stores will offer their entire line at discounts from 10% - 90% for a 48-hour period. Atomic Mall will drop its commission fees by 2 points across the board for participating merchants during the promotion. (Link)
Bonanzle Launches Craigslist Posting Tool
Bonanzle launched a "Craigslist importer," a semi-automated tool for posting Bonanzle items onto Craigslist. Bonanzle also encouraged sellers to set custom attributes in Google Base for better search engine optimization. And in an effort to boost the visibility of sellers' reputation, Bonanzle has overhauled the right side of the item page that includes the seller's feedback score and feedback percentage. A new page called a "Full Trustability Report" displays "incidental" indications that, when taken in aggregate, "can tell as much about a seller as their feedback does." (Link)
Etsy Redesigns Category Pages
Etsy launched newly designed category pages. Changes include more prominent Category Showcases and nested subcategory lists. (Link)
GEMM Now Allowing PayPal Payments
Media marketplace GEMM announced that customers are allowed to use Paypal to pay for purchases. CEO Roger Raffee said GEMM has some sellers who process their own payments but they are phasing that out. "GEMM will process all the payments on GEMM so the sellers will not need to choose how customers pay." GEMM is an online marketplace with 20,000 stores, dealers, and collectors from around the world selling records, CDs, books, videos, memorabilia and other products and collectibles online. (Link)
Tias.com Advertises on New York TV
Tias.com is running 30-second televsion spots on the PBS program "The Antiques Roadshow" on New York station WLIW. The ads are designed to make collectors aware of the online shopping opportunities at Tias.com, an online antiques mall featuring inventory from 500 merchants. WLIW reaches more than 1.4 million households in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut and is the third largest PBS station in the U.S. The commercial can be viewed on YouTube. Tias.com is also sponsoring Internet video program Collectibles Corner TV. Episodes of Collectibles Corner TV launch every Tuesday morning on the website. (Link)
