Reading AuctionBytes: Amazon to Keynote at SCOE Seller Conference

Amazon Vice President of Seller Services Peter Faricy will give the keynote address at the Sellers' Conference for Online Entrepreneurs (SCOE) this year. The conference, billing itself as "the independent conference for entrepreneurs who utilize Amazon.com as a sales channel," will take place July 10-13, 2009 in Seattle, Washington.

This year the conference will focus on how to think creatively to thrive and succeed in challenging economic times. According to the conference description, "If you are a media seller, we'll help you navigate the often tricky path to broadening your product offerings, showing you the way to "think outside the books." If you already offer non-media, we'll be inviting inventory-type specific specialists from Amazon to the Conference so that you can get some of your questions answered in person."

Rhonda Schneider, Conference Organizer, said the conference fee is $325 per person, but registrants may use a special URL to access the registration page in order to pay a discounted fee of $250 if they register before June 15.

The conference was first offered eight years ago as a means for online booksellers to meet, network and improve the industry, and each year, the scope of the conference has broadened. This year's agenda includes a brainstorming session on Saturday in which attendees formulate questions to ask a panel of Amazon executives during a visit to Amazon headquarters on Monday.
