Reading AuctionBytes: Infopia Announces New Certified eBay Checkout

Infopia announced the immediate availability of its new eBay certified Third Party Checkout product. The company said its retailers have the option of using eBay Checkout or Infopia Third Party Checkout. According to the company's announcement:

Late last year, eBay announced a new strategy to improve the shopping experience on their site by eliminating aspects of the checkout process that were inconsistent between different eBay retailers and potentially confusing to buyers. The strategy outlined a single checkout cart requirement for all sellers on eBay. Initially, eBay was not going to allow any third party checkout enhancements beyond the single eBay checkout product but they have recently indicated that third party enhancements in checkout can continue to be used as long as they comply with the new strategy. This change resulted in the creation of both an eBay compliant checkout option for Infopia retailers, and a third party checkout option which allows retailers to offer customers more options when finalizing purchases.

Infopia Director of Product Development Anne Vincenti said, "Infopia has expanded its eBay offering to include both eBay checkout and a third party checkout. eBay re-defined checkout requirements in order to improve a buyer's experience, and we're excited about the compelling and differentiating features we're able to integrate into that checkout workflow through our own third party checkout."

Options at checkout including sending checkout and receipt links, international shipping options, alternative credit card support and custom fields.
