Wigix announced it is the third largest multi-product database on the web, saying it has surpassed Overstock.com and Walmart.com in the number of SKUs in a multi-product database. Wigix currently has 3.5 million SKUs and denotes exponential growth from the 400 thousand SKUs during its public beta launch in June 2007.
Wigix currently holds 1 million open sell orders (the marketplace follows a model similar to a stock-exchange, only for ecommerce, with "portfolios" and buy and sell orders). Each sell order listing signifies one or multiple items available to buy from its member-base. The site said it has experienced record growth in monthly completed transactions and memberships.
"Our exponential growth is a clear indicator that Wigix is providing a better solution to the sellers and buyers who are migrating away from eBay," said Steve Young, Wigix' Senior Marketing Manager.
