eBay UK is making it free for casual sellers to list in the auction format on Sunday. Private Sellers who list item with any starting price in eligible categories using the Auction-style format on eBay.co.uk and eBay.ie, will not pay an Insertion Fee per listing - the 1-day promotion is in effect on September 13, 2009. All other fees apply, see website for details and restrictions.
eBay UK also updated its User Agreement as part of its new eBay Buyer Protection program. According to the announcement:
Under eBay Buyer Protection, eBay will, as always, encourage sellers to resolve any problem that their buyers may have. However, as part of this policy, there may be instances where a seller doesn't resolve a claim and we find in favour of the buyer. If so, we may remove funds from the seller's PayPal account to reimburse the buyer for the cost of the item and original postage. If this payment process fails due to lack of funds or any other reason we may refund the buyer directly for the cost of the item and original postage. In this case, the seller must reimburse us in full, and in a timely manner, for an amount equivalent to the sum we paid to the buyer.
