Overstock.com announced it has engaged KPMG as the company's independent registered public accounting firm of record for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2009. It had used PricewaterhouseCoopers for eight years, but selected Grant Thornton as its 2009 auditor. Overstock fired Grant Thornton after a dispute that founder and CEO Patrick Byrne described in this November 16th announcement.
Overstock said on Monday that KPMG would conduct an integrated audit of the company's 2009 financial statements, including review of the company's quarterly information for the periods ending March 31, 2009, June 30, 2009 and September 30, 2009.
