Online auction site eBid is introducing a number of changes that will roll out with a new platform design on January 5, 2010 at 6am London (1am New York time). Founder Mark Wilkinson said live listings would not be effected. "We will only be down for a few seconds, so no extension is required."
Mr. Wilkinson said the new design "will herald simple functionality changes along with a clean look and feel." Among many changes are the addition of Fedex integration so that users will have three shipping options: Fedex, UPS and USPS; a faster bulk-uploading process; eBay importing; and more.
In conjunction with the new design, eBid is ending its Seller+ Lifetime discounted offer. Users will have until the end of January 4th to sign up before it disappears. The Seller+ Lifetime discount cost $49.99 (USA) and 49.99 pounds (UK).
eBid said in December it had reached a high for total listings, reaching over 3.1 million. Live eBid Stores moved over the 10,000 mark for the first time.
Update: An eBid moderator announced the new launch was delayed until January 8th.
