eBay and Amazon Bookseller A1Books Closes Due to Bankruptcy

eBay and Amazon.com bookseller A1Books has ceased operations after its parent company Webnotions was forced into bankruptcy. Founder Shinu Gupta said he was attempting to raise funds when some of the company's vendors filed involuntary bankruptcy against it in April.

After selling on marketplaces for years, the company expanded the business to a marketplace model itself; A1Books had 4,000 sellers and 6 million customers.

Company assets will be auctioned on September 15 in New Jersey.
