EcommerceBytes has learned that antiques marketplace Ruby Lane will soon be offering its own gift card. The new card is designed to make Ruby Lane gift-giving easy, thus promoting additional sales.
Ruby Lane spokesperson Palmer Pekarek confirmed the news, explaining that the company was doing a "soft launch of the electronic gift card in-house and would be making a formal announcement to the general public in the next few months.
"We have long felt that we needed a gift card option, and our shop owners have requested one," he said, "so we felt this was the right time of year to have shop owners take the time to become comfortable with the use of the card."
Ruby Lane Advantage Gift Cards will be available for purchase on Ruby Lane, and users will be able to purchase a gift card and send it to the recipient of their choice via email. The cards will be redeemable in any Ruby Lane shop and will be available in denominations of $10, $25, $50, $100, and $250. Recipients redeem their gift card, using a new field for the card's code, when they purchase an item.
