Why does Paypal charge a fee on the postage and sales tax, if any? Aren't they getting enough??

Ina, as you might know, I sold hundreds of thousands of items on eBay from 2000 to 2008, and while I sold those items, I was a prolific poster on their discussion boards. One of the very most enjoyable eBay discussion board posters is "king-collect", also known as Erik Andresen.
I was always impressed by his quick wit and clever posts, and a couple of months ago he posted some examples of a cartoon strip he had created, "Internet Funnies" and when I saw how good those were, I felt compelled to commission him to create a full-page full-color comic strip ad for eMoviePoster.com in the style of the "Superman" comic books I grew up with in the 1950s.
He did it, and it is on the back cover of the newest Movie Collectors World, the leading magazine for movie poster collectors, in full color. Since I know you don't subscribe to Movie Collectors World, here is a link to it on my site.
I love it, and I can't thank Erik enough! I thought you might consider sharing it with your readers, both for their enjoyment, and to confirm that there can indeed be "life after eBay"!
Thanks!
Bruce

Subject: Past weeks eBay traffic worthy of gagging
Sorry to be so crude but I have hard core facts in my traffic reports to smell this weeks dead fish! I'm a huge fan of your site and read the NY Times article - congrats! I checked in to find the answer to why eBay hasno generated traffic this past week or present. Traffic reports read - (and they are correct I have the sales to prove). We are relying on you guys to tell us what's going on? Is this the final nail in the coffin - how can we ever hold on after this blow?
Thank you,
Chrissy

I found this today on the discussion boards My Google base feed does not work anymore and apparently is not going to for quite awhile by the looks of it.
This was posted by afabulousfind on July 16th. I found after pulling most of my hair out trying to figure out why none of my items are in google base. Here it is: (link).

I do not think that Ebay feels threatened by all these little Mom & Pop Selling/Auction sites popping up, but they should soon realize that all of those little places are taking away dollars from them, due to their greed.
Lets just hope some of the others get the exposure to match Ebays fame.
