Do you remember the first item you ever sold online? Let us know by sending an email to ina@auctionbytes.com and we may publish your story. Today we hear from Rebecca who did her homework before venturing into ecommerce, and made a tidy profit on her first sale.
Dear Ina,
I heard about eBay from a relative who was doing some selling. It sounded so intriguing, that I decided I wanted to try it myself. I thoroughly studied eBay For Dummies and bought myself a digital camera. I found a Nikken Magnetico Sleep System with Bag at a garage sale for $5.00, cleaned it well, and decided to go for it. I did my research and listed it on April 24, 2003, for auction, with a starting bid of $45.00. Seven days later, it sold with 22 bids for $132.50. Needless to say, I was hooked! Despite all the changes to eBay, I have been selling anything imaginable since, from sheep wool to a sailboat with trailer, etc. Thank You Ina, for your most informative website.
