The second day of the eBay Live user conference kicked off with a panel session of top
eBay executives.
Longtime employee and official eBay Ambassador Jim "Griff" Griffith walked onto
the stage at Saturday's Keynote event to a standing ovation. He introduced a panel of eBay
executives consisting of President and CEO Meg Whitman, COO Maynard Webb and Jeff Jordan,
Sr VP of U.S. business.

10:00am EST - Berlin, Germany and New Orleans to Host Next eBay Live
Conventions
eBay CEO Meg Whitman announced that an international eBay Live will take place in
Berlin, Germany, in September, 2003. She made the announcement at the keynote session at
the eBay Live keynote panel on Saturday morning. She expects to hold more international
conferences in the future.

their eBay Live conference booth today in Orlando, Florida. Peter Markham of Auburn

winning essay.

eBay Fraud Initiatives, Then Gets a Little Weird (Al, that is)
Pierre Omidyar, founder and chairman of the Board of eBay Inc., received a

at the eBay live community conference going on this week in Orlando, Florida.

9:30am EST - eBay Proposes Some Category
Reorganization; Introduces ''Item Specifics''
eBay announced yesterday that they will be reorganizing the Toys & Hobbies and
Dolls & Bears Categories on their site. The proposed changes combine the "Dolls
& Bears" and "Toys & Hobbies" categories to create one category
called "Toys & Dolls".

9:30am EST - PowerSeller Gives Synopsis
of Two eBay University Classes
Thursday, 6/26 Nikon Point, Click & Sell
This presentation was jointly delivered by a Nikon (eBay Live! Sponsor) employee and a
professional photographer. The session was well attended by over 400. Several camera tips
were geared towards the Nikon Coolpix 2100 (2.1 mpixel camera used for demonstrations),
however, most of the presentation was applicable to digital photography regardless of
camera type. The presenters repeatedly stressed that the best digital pictures for eBay
are clean, neat, and simple.

Off at eBay Live Convention
eBay Live attendees were anxious for 1 pm to arrive. Those arriving early on
the opening day of eBay's 2nd annual user convention in Orlando milled around and chatted,
waiting for sessions to begin and 1 pm meant classes would kick off.

Stockholder Meeting
eBay CEO Meg Whitman told shareholders eBay is a vibrant community and outlined
areas of growth for the company at today's annual stockholders meeting in Orlando,
Florida. Approximately 100 shareholders showed up for the 8am meeting, which lasted just
over an hour.

MyStoreCredit announced plans to launch what it says is the first service designed
specifically to drive repeat sales for eBay sellers. MyStoreCredit allows sellers to set
up a financial incentive for buyers to return and buy again from them again.

7pm EST - Online Payment Service BidPay Changes Name,
Lowers Some Prices
BidPay, a service of Western Union, announced that it will be changing its name to Western
Union Auction Payments. The online payment service allows buyers to purchase a Western
Union money order over the Internet, which BidPay then mails to the seller. The service is
popular with online auction sellers, who often use it to accept payment from international
bidders.
