As a Seller, when do you leave feedback?
When I ship the item
when I ship
I leave feedback for the buyer once I know the item has arrived and the buyer is satisfied with the sale.
once item is posted
when a buyer tells me they are satisfied with the transaction.. by either leaving feedback or emailing me.. or the length of time goes by telling me the same..then i leave feedback...
when they are happy with what i've sold them then i leave a feedback.
When the buyer leaves feedback OR when the sale is 45 days past ship date - whichever comes first. ALL SALES receive feedback.
when i ship
Most of the time, when I send the item
as a seller ...I leave feedback as soon as I receive payment....what else can I judge a buyer on then that....I want people to pay promptly and reward them promptly with positive feedback a way of saying thanks
a combination of the first 4 answers
When the buyer tells me they have received the item, are happy with it, and have left me feedback
On my high feedback accounts it is when I get it. On low feedback accounts I do it first.
Usually when I receive payment. If the buyer has been slow or communicates in way that leaves me feeling wary I wait til I get their feedback
only if they ask
I have always left it after payment is made but lately people are using feedback as a threat to get undeserved refunds so I am going to leave it after they do from now on.
I'm planning on selling high end Original Art Illustrations. The listing category for what I have to sell is pretty basic and vague. Original Art is just that..not a page torn from a book. A search yields too many items. A detailed search not MUCH less. Even when using Auction an search.. Orig. Illus. is a category upon itself and the listing for them on eBay is inadequate. To no avail!!
I usually wait 3 -4 days after mailing the item, to make sure there are no problems. Then I leave bulk feedback for all those I mailed.
usually when I receive payment. But if the item is really expensive or I have a "gut feeling" that the buyer could be a problem, I will wait until they leave it for me. A lot depends on what THEIR feedback looks like.
upon payment
I have recently changed my policy to -- when the buyer confirms receipt of item and they have left feedback.
Most of the time I leave feedback when I receive payment. If I suspect I might get negative feedback from the buyer, then I wait until they leave feedback.
after I have mailed the item
When I ship the item
Usually when I receive payment, unless the buyer has given me a reason to be wary of leaving feedback before they receive their item.
When I know that the buyer is SATISFIED with the transaction
Usually when I ship....unless the buyer has done something or has fb that makes me decide to wait. Lots of intuition.
When the item is shipped.
Either when the buyer tells me they have received the item safely or when they leave feedback.
upon delivery confirmation by buyer or tracking #
If the buyer has a history of bad feedback left for sellers I will usually wait on the feedback until after they have gotten the item. Otherwise we've always left feedback when we got payment.
If a bidder has high feedback, I generally leave it when I leave bulk feedback once every couple weeks. If a bidder has low feedback (a newby!) I wait until they say they've gotten the item or they leave me feedback.
I leave feedback after I receive it from buyer and then for everyone after 30 days have past.
Sometimes after I receive payment, other times when I know the buyer is happy with their purchase.
I leave feedback when I receive payment unless I'm feeling that there will be a problem with the buyer, then I wait until they have given me feedback.
Depends.Mix of above. I need to receive payment/clear bank, they need to rec item, leave feedback. I am very cautious about feedback, also leaving neg feedback because I have seen unfair retallation re feedback.Always leave positive feedback for all my buyers after I hear they are satisfied with item.
When the buyer leaves feedback for me. I feel the seller should leave it first and I did so for a few years. Getting screwed a few times turned it around.
I normally leave it first. In some cases I leave it after the buyer. If the user is new or has a habit of leaving unwarranted bad feedback for sellers I do it after they have.
When the buyer tells me that they've received the item & everything is satisfactory. I do indicate by email that return feedback would be appreciated but wasn't obligatory.
initially i left as i shipped, now i wait till buyers leaves feedback.
It depends on the item, the distance it is being shipped and my gut feeling on the buyer
When I ship the item
When the buyer leaves feedback OR if they email to say it arrived safely, whichever is first.
Usually after shipping the item.
When I ship the package
We leave feedback the same day we are ready to ship item.
I have been burnt in the past when I left feedback upon receipt of payment.
I leave feedback once I know that the transaction is fully complete. This means that they have received the item and have no problems. Buyers will sometimes just leave a feedback telling me they are happy.
When I ship the item
I used to leave it when items were shipped, but now only return feedback left for me.
I know it's controversial, but I feel that when the buyer pays for the item, he has completed his obligation to me therefore I leave feedback at that time regardless.
I leave feedback when I believe the transaction is completed & the buyer has product in hand, hopefully satisfied. I know this either from feedback left for me or from direct email. Feedback to me is a report of the whole experience from sale, payment, product delivery & customer & seller perception.
Depending on fb from buyer (less then 25 I usually let them leave it first, I have merlinauctionsoftware that will automatticaly leave fb after buyers. Others after item is paid.
When I ship the item - usually the same day that I receive the payment.
After payment clears.
When the item is ready to ship
I have been leaving feedback as soon as payment clears, however I'm debating about changing to leaving feedback after the buyer does. Mainly due to reading accounts of sellers who have been "burned" by negative feedback left unfounded. This seems like a bribery-type tool of sellers, so I haven't started that yet - still debating.
i have never sold anything
I'm not a seller yet, but hope to become one.
I ALWAYS LEAVE FEEDBACK WHEN THE ITEM IS PAID FOR AND SHIPPED...SO THEY KNOW IT IS ON IT'S WAY. HOWEVER, FOR ITEMS THAT ARE INEXPENSIVE, AND HAVE A TENDENCY TO HAVE THE BUYER LEAVE NEUTRALS OR NEGATIVES, BECAUSE OF THEM NOT READING THE SIZE IN THE AD CLOSELY, I WAIT FOR THEM TO LEAVE ME FEEDBACK BEFORE I GIVE THEM THE FEEDBACK...SINCE I HAVE HAD THREE MUTUAL WITHDRAWALS IN REGARDS TO THAT...
I leave feedback on the day I mail. With that method I have a record of the day I mailed.
I leave feedback when I ship except under certain circumstances when I get that strange feeling about a buyer...then I hold off until they leave it for me.
It depends on the bidder. I have been taken by a hostage bidder after I left + feedback.
it depends. I've started waiting untl the buyer leaves feedback but it's not always efficient for me . If you leave feedback when you get paid an check bounces, it could be problematic. and sometimes I have some free time, so so I leave feedback for all that have paid.
When buyer confirms receipt; or, failing that communication, when buyer leaves fb for me
At the point I feel the transaction is completed.
I give buyer time to leave FB, after I am sure they receive the item. If no FB is left, I will then leave FB first hoping they will do the same for me. I do feel they deserve FB for prompt payment, or quick responses to correspondence. Although a seller likes to know whether or not a buyer is satisfied with their purchase first, to try and avoid NFB.
I leave feedback when I receive payment from a confirmed (Paypal) buyer but wait until the buyer leaves feedback in the case of unconfirmed Paypal users
Either when the buyer has notified me that they have received the item and are satisfied, either through email, or feedback. Or if there is a problem, after the problem has been taken care of to the buyers satifaction. Or at the end of 90 days if DC shows the item received, and I have not yet heard from the buyer.
When I notify of shipment
the majority of the time after the buyer has paid, but on some occassions after the seller has paid me depending on the circumstance.
1. When the buyer leaves feedback, or 2. When the buyer confirms acceptance of item, or 3. 2 weeks after shipment (USA)
When I receive confirmation of delivery of package.
at time of shipment
When I have shipped the item
I leave feedback as soon as I ship the item.
Depends, but mostly when they have paid. If they are new, I wait until they have left feedback
I will leave feedback if I have not heard from them after about three weeks. After this time, I feel like they have had time to let me know if they have a problem. I leave a simple A++++ if they have not left me any feedback.
I used to give positive FB after receiving payment, but sometimes got undeserved negative or neutral FB back. Now I wait till the buyer leaves FB after completion of the transaction. This forces (new) bidders to think twice about the FB they will leave.
It depends on the buyer's feedback rating. If the buyer has a small feedback #, I wait until they have received the item and are satisfied w/the purchase. If their feedback # is large and their rating is high, I will leave feedback when payment is received.
It depends on how the transaction went before and after receiving payment. If it seems to have gone smoothly I will leave it after receiving payment but if I think the bidder seems 'weird' or I get a bad 'vibe' I will wait until they leave feedback first.
I LEAVE FEEDBACK WHEN I SHIP.
repeat customers, I leave FB after receiving their payments. New customers, I wait until I know they have received the item, and leave FB for them.
I usually leave feedback when I have confirmation from the post office that the package was delivered. Occasionally I wait a week or two, to see if the customer is truly satisfied with my product. I don't always leave a negative feedback, but I always leave positive when it's appropriate.
sometimes when the item has been shipped - and also sometimes after the item has been received - I just had a buyer put " beautiful item on the feedback and she had just paid - item not even shipped yet ? "
As a seller I leave feedback when I know the buyer has received the item and is pleased with it. In my opinion a transaction is not over until both parties are satisfied.
After I ship
I leave the feed back after I have sent the Item and want to take the picture off the auction so I can use the space for another picture.
when I mail item
LAST MONTH I STARTED TO USE SPAREDOLLAR'S AUTO RESPONSE FOR FEEDBACK
When I mail there item to them.
Usually when payment is received but if I have had a hard time getting the buyer to pay according to my terms of sale, then sometimes I wait to see what transpires. However, I have never left retaliatory feedback and never will. I feel this is childish and unprofessional.
If they pay cash, I leave ASAP; otherwise wait a month or two for check to clear, or immediately after they leave for me.
I leave feedback the day I notify the buyer that his package has been shipped.
When enough time has gone by for the buyer to have complained and hasn't.
When I mail the item to the buyer. Don't do it when I recieve payment as need to wait for checks to clear.
