Creating an Inexpensive Seamless Background

Start with a cardboard box large enough to use a a frame for your background.  This one is 21"x25"x3"

00.jpg (7801 bytes) Light matte construction paper will be used as your interchangeable seamless backgrounds.  These sheets are 28" x 22"
With a razor knife, cut the two long  sides of the cardboard box until you have a flat piece. 00.jpg (7801 bytes)
00.jpg (7801 bytes) You may want to trim the bottom part of your carboard box so that it doesn't overhang the chair seat.
This is how your cardboard frame should look before you clip the construction paper on it. 00.jpg (7801 bytes)
00.jpg (7801 bytes) With spring-type clothespins, clip the sheet of construction paper to the vertical side of the cardboard frame...

00.jpg (7801 bytes) Let the construction paper follow the contour of the cardboard box, without creating a crease where the "wall" meets the "floor.
Use clothespins to clip the bottom corners of the construction paper to the cardboard. 00.jpg (7801 bytes)

 Place the item to be photographed near the front of the seamless, keeping as much distance as possible between the item and the background.
