Antitrust Lawsuit Filed against eBay over PayPal, Payments Policies
Michael Malone filed an antitrust class-action lawsuit against eBay this week under the Sherman Act, alleging eBay "utilizes its nationwide monopoly of the on-line auction market to monopolize the available forms of payment that sellers can use on eBay." eBay controls which payment methods sellers may advertise in their listings, and this year, it eliminated buyer-protection for non-PayPal transactions. eBay owns the PayPal payment service.

eBay Glitch Prevents FVF Refunds for Sellers
Sellers uncovered a glitch that they say is keeping eBay from refunding fees owed to them. The problem stems from credits sellers request for "Final Value Fees" (FVF) from transactions in which the buyer never paid for the items (UPI, or Unpaid Items). eBay refunds FVF for sellers who are victims of deadbeats, but sellers reported on Thursday that they have not been receiving credits due to them.

Turbo-Lister Transition Demonstrates Some eBay Challenges
Some sellers who use one of eBay's basic listing tools give the company's replacement version a thumbs down. eBay retired "Turbo Lister 1" on April 4, replacing it with Turbo Lister 2, or TL2 as it's also called. Some have been struggling since last year to get the new system to work on their computers, others have had trouble importing listings from version 1 to version 2 without having to manually update each listing.
