Notes:
Kodak DC 4800:
3.1 Megapixel Camera is a great purchase for the Online auction user who wants to step up to the next level, yet is still on a budget.  3x Optical zoom (6x digital) Although, I would primarily consider this an outdoor camera, there are some very nice features that, once learned, will greatly improve your indoor picture quality.  Macro ability suffers from not being able to get closer than 9-10" to subject.  May not be the best choice for someone selling small items, such as coins or jewelry.  Low-light pictures are slightly noisier than the other two cameras tested. The ability to scroll through different color temperature settings is a very nice feature and one that can give you true-color images – a must for online auction users.  USB connection makes transferring images to your computer quick and easy. This camera has lots of features for the going street price.  You can't go wrong with this choice.

Nikon Coolpix 950:
This camera was the best tested for close-up shots.  Ideal for taking shots of smaller, detailed items. Ergonomics may look strange, but fits nicely in the hand. If you buy this camera, invest in rechargeable NIMH batteries – otherwise you'll go broke buying AA Alkaline batteries.  Serial Port connection to computer is painfully slow downloading images. If you buy this camera, I would strongly recommend that you purchase a USB Picture Card reader to speed up transfers to your computer.

Sony Cyber-shot F505V:
3.3 Megapixel resolution gives very sharp pictures. The flexibility of the 5x Optical zoom (10x Digital) blows everything else in this category away. Camera has very good detail in macro mode for sharp close-ups. 3 Different Flash settings make life easy to adjust for inside pictures.  Menus are well thought out and easy to navigate. USB connection was nice and fast for downloading images to computer. Biggest drawbacks to this camera are the price ($899 list), the lack of optical viewfinder, and the short battery life.
