Suppose eBay or PayPal is down and you're not sure if it's the site or your own connection? Aside from running to a forum and asking, what steps do you take? Do you run traceroutes and ping sites to check its accessibility?

| I'll use www.tracert.com to check if the problem is with the site or if it's with something else. It will let you checks a sites response time from up to 10 other locations. I'll just select 10 locations from around the US and see what the response times are. If responce times are posted I know the problem probably unique to my ISP. |
