ebay or elsewhere ??

Firstly, thanks for this great website. The whole internet experience is new to me.

I distribute a range of products and wish to sell on-line. I have checked out ebay.com and there 7 sellers with stores selling the same products as I (105 listings when searched) , so it seems to be covered there. ebay.com.au (Australia) and ebay.co.uk both have maybe 3 or 4 sellers with stores (about 28 listings). My question to those who have more experience than me is this...

Should I list on ebay and educate myself (or enlist services of others) to direct traffic to my listings or should I try the other sites available: eg. QXL, bidville, yahoo etc. ?
I don't know much about the traffic that visits these sites and ebay. Any help would be greatly appreciated. My products are in the category of health, beauty, personal care, certified organics.
Shipping is ex Australia and USA and is worldwide.
