I have a chargeback dispute now:
Buyer buys 2 items.
I ship VIA Registered Mail.
Buyer signs for them.
Buyer tells Paypal "Unauthorized purchase".
Paypal emails me.
I send Paypal all the info the ask for to verify my side of it.
Outcome:
Paypal ignores my emails and it appears they are going to allow the chargeback AND let the guy keep my items.

what is an unauthorized purchase?
Also Paypal gets hundreds of complaints daily and it takes time for them to get to you.
I had two such complaints filed against me and both times I won. One time they even called me..
One was for an item that the woman said I mis-described.. NOT so, but Paypal actually stuck up for the buyer but they refunded her the money but never took it out of my account.
Reason I guess, because I told the Paypal Rep that the item was exactly as described not as this woman said. I sold her something Gold Vermeil plated and I know when she got it she tried cleaning it with an abrasive and wiped off all the gold leaving her with sterling silver.. I even sent this Paypal rep the email where she stated that she cleaned it. The buyer wanted a refund because she said I sold her silver not gold...
The Paypal rep wanted the item so I guess she refunded this woman's money after she got the item..
The other case I don't remember but Paypal turned them down.. |

I can't tell you what an "Unauthorized Purchase" is because 90 days later, Paypal has still not replied to that same question from me.
I also told Paypal that I had an unconditional 100% refund offer that these folks could have used to get a refund. But they did not. Instead they kept the items and dreamed up Unauthorized Purchase as an excuse.
I even offered to GLADLY refund if they returned items. I sent this to both Paypal and the buyer. No reply from the buyer. No reply from Paypal who apparently does not think that is the way to solve the problem.
Sure Paypal has a lot of problems to deal with. My heart bleeds for them and their inability to properly staff the departments to deal with them in a reasonable manner. I'd be kicked off Ebay in a heartbeat if I treated MY buyers thathe way Paypal treats their customers.
I'm glad you got your problem resolved. I'm sure that does happen. Just as SOMEONE wins the lottery out of many who play. |

An "unauthorized purchase" is just one of the terms PayPal is reported to
use when something goes wrong while they are processing a transaction.
If one buys with a credit card and decides later to do a chargeback.
Paypal is powerless and usually the cc company grants a CB. PP (in most instances),
will NOT absorb the loss, so the seller takes the hit plus a $10.00 fee on top of that.
It happens all the time to even those who follow the bogus Seller Protection policy to the letter, according to many reports all over the place.
I would love to know how many have actually been protected under the SPP,
but don't expect ebay or paypal to ever disclose that information.
I think PP realizes at this point, they don't need to use words like "excellent" to
describe this failed bogus policy.
I suspect the one who was correcting the writers verbiage, knows all too well that there is a "limited ability" to comply because they know the whole policy is deigned for one purpose.
To make you feel safe using their service to process cc orders
even though you are NOT.
As PayPal is forced into further compliance of regulations in other counties markets,
they are learning they can not continue to promise what they KNOW the can't deliver.
Here is the new REVISED language even after the pp spokesman
said the word "excellent" would remain.
"We offer you chargeback protection, too". (Is what it states now or did as of yesterday)...

I love it.

Yes, PP should be sued for slander because they can't guarantee this, unless maybe you are one of the fortunate few that hit Plantium PS grade. They just might cater to your every whisper ... I've had 2 CBs this year. UPS verified delivery, receits, etc. but out my pocket, the item cost each =$50+, Shipping =$15+, ebay fees +++, paypal fees+++ and don't forget PPs $10 fee for the chargeback ... and now the customer keeps the item and I pay for it again??? Sounds like a scam to me!
Oh and both cases, ebay ID now (not registered) and by chanch, both phone numbers disconnected or unlisted. Yep, a great 100% guarantee -- us small frys get the boot! No calls from PP, just a few generated emails ... _________________ GW -- Asking for your Opinions

May PP should be sued for "defective product".
The evidence is there that PP knows it's SPP is a "defective product". Testimonies and evidence supplied by the plaintiffs on how they followed the SPP to the "T" would make it the quickest settlement before it hit the courts in history.

I just finished with a 'buyer complaint' process whereas the buyer stated 'product not as described'. After a few weeks of correspondence with PayPal, the outcome has been decided in my (the seller's) favor.
I was absolutely thrilled by the decision to back the seller. Maybe PayPal is taking a different approach to the thousands of unscrupulous buyer claims, many of which are nothing but an attempt to defraud honest sellers.
Cudos to the PayPal dispute resolution team.
Dishonest buyers, BEWARE!!! |

The outcome would be different if the buyer used a credit card.
See when you sign up with paypal as a buyer and fund your account via a bank xfer or even a cc "cash advance" and NOT use a cc for all purchases like a cc.
PayPal then has the BUYER over a barrel as well as the seller.
Kudos to the PayPal... Slick move if buyers are naive enough NOT to use the protection provided by their credit card in the event something is a miss. _________________ Tim |
