Hi Boardies! I heard about ShopNBC coming to eBay and I checked them out. I also saw the article from Auctionbytes. Again, this is another large scale company that is allowed to break the rules with no reprimand. The rules are for everyone and no matter how much money or how high profile you are, you shouldn't be given special treatment to go outside of the rules.
Anyone of us small time sellers would be nailed for fee circumvention and solicitation. If we can't do this, they shouldn't be allowed to either! Ebay Sellers are not under any circumstances allowed to
- Utilize an About me page to encourage individuals to sign up for an off-site mailing list.
- Have an about me page that links to off-site sales
- Contain within your listing links that go to outside of ebay sales
- have listings that contain ending soon items
- And I also don't believe you can implement an additional service fee
There are 329 listings that have either already closed or are currently active. All of them are clear violations. Violations which small businesses would get slapped, hit, suspended and naru'd. I don't make the rules, ebay does. All I want is a fair & safe marketplace.
Here's the TinyURL to all their listings, http://tinyurl.com/yxaumy |
