AuctionBytes is running a series of articles about online storefronts. Nancy Hix kicked off the series with "eBay Stores Part I: Setting up an eBay Store" at http://www.auctionbytes.com/cab/abu/y203/m11/abu0107/s02

In Sunday's issue of AuctionBytes-Update newsletter. we'll run, "eBay Stores Part 2: Seven Ways to Promote Your eBay Store."

If you have tips on how to promote your eBay store, please share them here.

We will cover other Storefront services in future issues.
Thanks!
Ina

This is one thing some eBay store sellers are trying, the eBay Stores Sidewalk Sale. "We are an eBay Stores cooperative dedicated to promoting the eBay community ethic by participating in a mutually beneficial Sidewalk Sale!"

You can learn more about it here: http://beadhappysfavorites.bravehost.com/ebaystoressidewalksale.html#esss or in our eBay group here: http://groups.ebay.com/accept.jspa?code=MTE0MToxMTEzMToxMDAwNTI1NDc6aEc3YkhOZmQ%3D

Very interesting marketing technique, I think it's a great idea. Fun for the shopper.

Thanks Ina! Anything to get the word out about eBay Stores! So many bidders still don't know we exist!

We are doing it, our group has 179 members, the SiteRing has 51 members and there are 1548 items in the ESSS search! And we are having fun doing it. Mona

I also submit my eBay Store to the search engines, run a Kanoodle sponsored ad campaign, paid for Ixquick's "Searchlight," I use Oscar's Thumbnail Cross-Selling Links Tool http://www.egocentral.com/cgi-bin/ebay_cross_sell.cgi in my auctions, joined several Webrings that are either pertinent to eBay or to what I sell in particular, give business cards to people I meet who are interested in my items, add a signature line to my posts on other boards similar to the one I have here, add a similar signature to Yahoo groups e-mails, promote our eBay Stores Sidewalk Sale during eBay's Share Your Wares events by adding a graphic that links to our organization page. I have a banner ad on RanchoWeb, and am listed in PayPal shops.

Unfortunately eBay's Business Resource Center only offers downloadable business card, stationary, and envelope templates for PowerSellers. This was not noticeable until I had downloaded the templates. http://pages.ebay.com/storefronts/busresource.html Maybe this will change in the future?

I try to leave no inexpensive stone unturned when it comes to promoting my eBay store.

In 'Manage my Ebay Shop' you can use the HTML builder to create an html code to post rotating images of your shops's items on your own website. The images take a few seconds to appear on my angelfire lycos free site but are an excellent advertisement.
