Yahoo Australia & NZ, a subsidiary of Yahoo Inc., bought SOLD.com.au, an Australian auction site, from F2, the online interactive network of John Fairfax Holdings. SOLD.com.au has 180,000+ registered users, 185 retail merchants. Over the July-Dec.2000 time frame, SOLD.com.au completed more than 129,000 successful auctions with gross merchandise sales exceeding $11.8 million. SOLD.com.au derives its revenues from listing fees, commissions and advertising. Yahoo Auctions operates in 16 countries and 11 languages.
